Valeska Andrews - NO HANDS® Massage | 07811 480 871
Certified as a massage therapist since 1995 Valeska has spent well over 10,000 hours in clinic to date, both privately at Dance Base for dancers and non-dancers of all ages, abilities and fitness levels and as a sessional therapist for community health organisations which support people with diverse issues: mental health, chronic illness and injury, living with cancer, carers, substance misuse, isolation, trauma and abuse.

From her own background in track and field and, at various times, a practitioner in dance, capoeira, yoga and pilates, she is aware of the holistic health benefits of movement and encourages clients to include regular exercise in their lives and be responsible for their own health as much as possible.

Some feedback from her dance clients:

"After the massage I'm feeling physically and mentally energized, rejuvenated and with a stronger willpower to continue with my dancing and exercise routines"
NG. Dancer, Edinburgh

"Valeska is a wonderfully sensitive, smart and intuitive body worker, who has an individual style different to any bodywork I'd had before... Multiple points of contact and the complexity of movements create release, space and freedom for my body. The treatments are intense, but not painful and always leave me feeling revitalised, restored and ready to carry on dancing. I would not hesitate to recommend Valeska to anyone!"
SP. Dancer, Choreographer & Teacher, London

"Walking on air... I feel wonderful after my massage – a different head space altogether and all my aches and pains evaporated. Thank you, thank you."
SG. Dancer, Edinburgh

Merav Israel - Functional Integration

The Feldenkrais Method - Functional Integration® (FI) is a system of somatic education. It offers a holistic approach to physical and self improvement. It helps to achieve better organised movement patterns, looking at the link between thought and action and the whole personal organisation and self image. It helps in achieving lasting results of improved coordination, balance and posture, mobility, flexibility, ease of pain, recovery and prevention of injuries, sense of vitality, well being and developed awareness.

Functional Integration® (FI) is the one to one aspect of the Feldenkrais Method. In these sessions the practitioner uses touch and sometimes verbal guidance to lead the student into a more efficient way of moving and better organisation of themselves. The sessions are tailored to the specific needs of the client/student and done in comfortable clothes.

Merav Israel is a qualified teacher of The Feldenkrais Method. She has been studying and teaching movement for 20 years with a strong somatic approach. Her background is in movement studies, dance, improvisation, and performance. She has experience and understanding of the demands of a physical profession as well as the day to day activities in life and interested in facilitating the possibility of longevity and enjoyment in performance on stage and in life. She teaches various embodied movement practices, and applications in choreography and performance. She is the artistic director of LaNua.
